Fieldwork Communication
‘Communication Excellence’ is at the heart of the Kadence Fieldwork Services culture. Kadence recently asked research buyers what they were looking for from their data collection services. The results were published on the front cover of ‘Research’ magazine’s April ’09 issue.
The research showed that the key to data collection success is communication excellence.
Excellent Communication from Project Managers to the Client
I like agencies that can communicate effectively and that provide me with regular updates and reports throughout the project.
Great agencies proactively offer suggestions and would be problem solvers and not problem reporters.
Excellent Communication from Interviewers to the Respondent
The key thing is the interviewer needs to make the respondent feel like he is being listened to.
Anyone can sit in front of a CATI screen and read the questions and take the answers. The exceptional thing is making the respondent feel they are being cared for and appreciated.
Kadence delivers on these essential communication needs by:
- Making the interviewer briefing a focus of the fieldwork process. Well briefed interviewers are more confident and better able to establish a conversational tone to get the best out of each interview.
- Focusing on rapport and tone when interviewing. We identify and nurture these communication styles in recruitment, training and reward programs.
- Focusing on the role of the project manager – clients are kept up to date with the information they need to know: progress and recommendations. We are not problem reporters but solution providers.
